In Memoriam

Roxy Wollie arrived in May 2019, together with her friend Max Worsie. Their owners had become ill, lost their home and had to give up their dogs. She was 8 years old. Roxy was a sweet, fluffy, dainty girl. She passed away from cancer in December 2021.

Twiggy came to us in November 2019, along with her friend Pixey. Their owner had passed away. She was 13. She was completely deaf but so feisty. She loved her special snacks. She passed away in her sleep in November 2021.

Pixey was 12 when she arrived together with Twiggy in November 2019. Their owner had passed away. Pixey loved waking up the whole household at 4 am, demanding breakfast. She passed away in May 2022.

Romeo came to us in January 2023 from Pet Rescue Isipingo. He was a tiny old man of about 12 years old. In May 2024 the vet removed a huge tumour from his abdomen. He miraculously survived this operation but the tumour returned with a vengeance. We had to let him go in July 2024.

Zoey was already over 10 years old when she stayed with us in 2020. She returned to her owners but returned to us in April 2024. She had arthritis, luxiating patellas, a zest for life and food and no fear of bigger dogs! Her little body gave up in October 2024.

Mkuze came to Silver Paws in May 2019. She was rescued next to the road in Mkuze, KZN. She was suffering from biliary and looked like a walking skeleton. She turned into a gentle giant whose tail was always wagging, even though she had arthritis. We had to let her go on 13 August 2024 when her back legs gave in.
