Our Dogs

Sassy, a 9 year old Dachshund cross, arrived in April 2023.  Her owner abandoned her when they moved. The new tenants took care of her until they also had to move. She loves barking and eating and knows she’s the queen, sleeping under a blanket, winter or summer.

Crinkles is a Shar Pei who came to Silver Paws in November 2021 via Feel Good Funding. He was then 9 years old. His owner had passed away and he had nowhere to go after her house was sold. He’s a strong boy who loves shaking paw and loves getting visitors.

Bandit is a 7 year old ex-Inanda KZN Valley dog who was diagnosed with bilateral hip dysplasia at the age of 1 – he wouldn’t have survived long where he was. He’s been at Silver Paws since he was a few months old and is a loved, spoilt boy who walks wonky but can run like the wind (sort of!).

Astro came to us in January 2023, when he was already 13 years old. His owner passed away and he had nowhere to go. He’s a gentle, laidback boy who loves food.

Max Apie was one of our first official residents when we opened. He arrived in December 2018 with Roxy, a very senior Jack Russell. He used to love barking at the monkeys but now prefers to be a couch potato. He is now about 10 years old. He is very scared of thunder.
